Abstract

A hot hemithorax after sclerosis for malignant pleural effusion has not been reported previously. The unusual pattern presented here is due to true skeletal uptake, whereas the increase in pleural effusions is due to underlying fluid or soft tissue accumulation. The mechanism of increased skeletal tracer uptake is unknown.
