Abstract

Results of a study of pyridine oriented in a nematic phase in the presence of the lanthanide shift reagent, tris (dipivalomethanato) europium(III) are reported. The shift reagent does not appear to affect the pyridine geometry. The isotropic and anisotropic parts of the lanthanide induced shifts are reported.
