Use of atomic absorption spectrometry for iron determinations in coals

Abstract

Analyses of iron content of the hydrochloric and nitric acid extracts in the ASTM procedure for sulphur forms in coals can be accurately determined by atomic absorption spectrometry. Sulphate ion and sulphuric acid were found not to interfere.
